The Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) formally inducted Dr. Irene D. Yu as President-Elect for the 2024–2026 term during a virtual induction ceremony held on February 4, 2026. The induction was officiated by APO President Dr. Joy R. Marañon, with members of the APO Board and COMELEC in attendance.
A special election was conducted following the vacancy created by the appointment of Hon. Jocelyn Genevieve T. Tan as Member of the Philippine Board of Dentistry. Dr. Yu was subsequently elected to assume the position and continue the responsibilities of the office.
Dr. Yu earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the East and completed her Master of Science in Dentistry major in Orthodontics at the University of the Philippines. She currently serves as a faculty member of the UP-Graduate Program in Orthodontics. Within APO, she previously chaired the Judicial and By-Laws Committee and continues to serve as a member of the same committee. She also served as President of the Angeles City Dental Chapter and remains active in its Board.
