The Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) participated in the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Alay Parada 2026 held on February 1, 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City as part of the celebration of the 22nd National Dental Health Month (NDHM).
Serving as the official kick-off activity of National Dental Health Month, the event gathered dental professionals, specialty societies, affiliates, integrated organizations, and dental schools in promoting oral health awareness under this year’s theme, “Dentista’y Kaagapay sa Ngiting Walang Humpay.”
During the parade, APO highlighted its advocacy against unsafe and unauthorized orthodontic treatment through its “No to DIY Braces” campaign. The organization reminded the public that orthodontic treatment should only be performed by qualified dental professionals and certified orthodontists to prevent serious complications such as irreversible dental damage, infections, and bite problems.
Through its participation, the APO reaffirmed its commitment to public education, patient safety, and the promotion of ethical and evidence-based orthodontic care in the Philippines.
