We are a specialty organization founded in 1980 to promote and encourage a high standard of excellence in orthodontic treatment and education. We are recognized internationally as an affiliate society of the World Federation of Orthodontists and a charter member of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS). The Association of Philippine Orthodontists was officially awarded the Certificate of Accreditation by the Philippine Board of Dentistry and was duly recognized as the official specialty society for Orthodontics in the country on January 26, 2011. 3rd APO General Meeting June 5, 2013

Please note:

  1. We have a new venue for the 3rd APO GM- SOLAIRE Resort (PALMGROVE is under renovation) at 1 Solaire Boulevard Entertainment City Manila Bay Manila Philippines. You can access the hotel from Macapagal Boulevard. Shuttle is available from MOA.
  2. This is a half day seminar on Surgery and Periodontics in relation to Orthodontic treatment. Meeting will start at exactly 8:30 AM. This is open to Non-APO Members. Please invite your friends.
  3. Pre-registration deadline is May 29, 2013. Confirmations made after this date will be treated as On-site Registration.

Evidence-Based Orthodontics: an APO Update

Six months ago on August 15, 2012 at the request of PDA Pres. Arturo de Leon, UPCD Dean Vicente O. Medina convened the PDA Cluster on Standards of Care/Clinical Practice Guidelines (SOC/CPG) in conjunction with the latest global impetus in clinical practice: “Evidence-Based Dentistry”. From APO, Robert Eustaquio, Jose Rivera and Roberto Tan, formed part of the Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) for Orthodontics to be part of a larger Methodology Research Group. From systematic reviews, the CAGs from the different specialities would formulate evidence-based clinical parameters, guidelines or standards that would issue forth from the PDA SOC/CPG Council.

APO Wins a Trophy in PDA Alay Parada 2013

The Philippine Dental Association (PDA) recently celebrated its 9th National Dental Health Month (NDHM) last Jan. 15 to Feb 27, 2013 with the theme “Ngipin Pangalagaan Sakit Maiiwasan, Bansa’y Matutulungan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. As a traditional part of this celebration, the Alay Parada 2013 was held last February 3 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
