How do I become a member of APO?

Here are some of the different types of members:

DIPLOMATE: A member who has completed a formal orthodontic graduate program from PBO accredited schools and/or institutions, a FELLOW who has passed the part IV of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics and has been certified by the Philippine Board of Orthodontics to meet the standards of academic knowledge and clinical proficiency in the field of Orthodontics.

FELLOW: A member who has completed a formal orthodontic graduate program from PBO accredited schools and/or institutions, has been an ACTIVE member for at least two (2) consecutive years, shall be elevated to Fellow upon fulfilling a set of criteria promulgated by the Association. Fellow members are in exclusive practice of orthodontics and are eligible for membership in the World Federation of Orthodontists.

ACTIVE MEMBER: A member who has completed a formal orthodontic graduate program from PBO accredited schools and/or institutions, an Associate Member who has passed the Part III of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics and who is in the exclusive practice of Orthodontics.

AFFILIATE MEMBER:
A member who has completed a formal orthodontic graduate program from PBO accredited schools and/or institutions, an Associate member who has passed the Part III of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics and who is not in the exclusive practice of orthodontics.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER: A member who has passed the Parts I and II of the certification examination of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics. The associate membership is a transitory category premised on the stipulation that the associate members shall upgrade themselves by passing the Phase III of the certification examination of the Philippine Board of Orthodontics in the terms set by the PBO.

INTERNATIONAL MEMBER: An orthodontist certified by their national orthodontic association, who is not practicing in the Philippines may be admitted as a member of this Association.
