The Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) and PDA San Juan City Dental Chapter (SJDC) agreed to have a memorandum of Agreement to promote quality and relevant public health programs to grade 2 school children of Pedro Cruz Elementary School in San Juan City. Aside from the oral health education, interceptive orthodontic treatment will also be provided to selected grade 2 students. The name of the twinning project is “Early Management of Teeth for a Lesser Skeletal/Dental Problems.”
On September 18, 2023, twenty (20) volunteers from APO and SJDC performed oral health education and fluoride application to the grade 2 students and also checked on the occlusion of the students to select possible candidates who will qualify for Phase 1 Orthodontic Treatment. This community based project is still on going as the selected candidates are still completing all the necessary diagnostic records before the orthodontic appliance will be installed in their dentition.
