Locsin The Association of Philippine Orthodontists was officially awarded the Certificate of Accreditation by the Philippine Board of Dentistry and was duly recognized as the official specialty society for Orthodontics in the country on January 26, 2011. This was done in conjunctions with the Oath-Taking ceremony of the new dentists, dental hygienists and dental technologists at the Fiesta Pavillon of the Manila Hotel.

Last January 17, six of the newly-elected officers of the Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) attended the “I Learn, We Learn” Leadership Training Program organized by the Philippine Dental Association (PDA) in collaboration with United Laboratories, Inc. (Unilab).

After one National Congress, one Regional Congress, 12 Board Meetings, 8 General Meetings, 2 Outreach Activities, 2 Philippine Journal of Orthodontic issues, 2 APO Smile issues, 2 PDA Limited Attendance Lectures, 2 PDA Orthodontic Symposiums, 2 PDA National Dental Health Month Activities, plus our participation in APO’s global activities for the WFO and APOS… I am extremely happy to pass on the baton to the next APO Board. Under the able leadership of Dr. Roberto Tan, I am confident and optimistic that the new Board can confront the many trials and opportunities which lie ahead.
