Miss Universe Beauties Visit OLPCC

Last January 20, 2017, 8 candidates of the Miss Universe pageant and our very own Miss Universe 2016 Miss Pia Wurtzbach visited the cleft patients in Our Lady of Peace Craniofacial Center in Paranaque City. This was made possible by one of OLPCC’s major sponsor, the Smile Train, with its representatives gracing the event.

They were introduced to the multidisciplinary care of the cleft patients as well as meeting the different specialists and volunteers who take care of the beneficiaries. The candidates and Miss Wurtzbach also had bonding moments with the young patients. They had drawing and coloring activities, and clowning around and having fun with them. That same morning, another activity was also being held in the Conrad Hotel, the Empowerment Workshop, with another select group of Miss Universe candidates interacting with cleft patients, all of whom are APO beneficiaries!

In both events, the parents and the patients shared their struggles and challenges, and finding hope and solution through the help of generous donors and volunteer specialists.

It was a half-day activity full of camaraderie and sharing, which the patients will cherish for a long time.
