It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed Past President, Dr. Cynthia Protacio-Quismundo. Affectionately known to many as “Dr. Q,” she led the Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) with passion, dedication, and a visionary spirit that continues to inspire us all.
Dr. Q’s contributions to APO were immeasurable, and her legacy remains a cornerstone of our organization. She played a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community, touching countless lives through her professionalism, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the field of orthodontics. A graduate of Kanagawa College in Japan, she pioneered the use of the MEAW Technique in the Philippines and mentored numerous orthodontic practitioners through the MEAW Study Group Club.
We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we come together in mourning, let us also celebrate the many ways she enriched our lives and strengthened our organization.
