Correction of Facial Asymmetry by Orthodontics

Dr. Rocelie R. Sison, a Fellow member of Association of Philippine Orthodontists, and a member of PDA Speakers Bureau, was one of the invited lecturers in the 3-day long symposium of PDA Luzon Convention held in Philippine International Convention Center from Jan 17-19, 2017. Her lecture in the afternoon of Jan 18 entitled, “Correction of Facial Asymmetry by Orthodontics” was well attended by almost 2,000 dentists. She talked about the possibility for a dentist to correct facial asymmetry if it is due to Mand Lateral Deviation. The Orthodontic mechanics that were discussed are intended to bring the mandible to the center by eliminating the discrepancy between upper and lower jaw heights and widths.
