2nd General Meeting and Scientific Seminar

The Association of Philippine Orthodontists held its 2nd General Meeting and Scientific Seminar  with the theme “Orthodontic Excellence: Untold Secrets of Function, Stability and Aesthetics” October 15, 2024 at the Marco Polo Hotel, Ortigas Center, Pasig City, Metro Manila.

Dr.Bilal Koeilat presented how taking advantage of the features of Genius Passive Self-Ligating Bracket System using forces as low as 25 grams can produce desired tooth movements while maximizing its efficiency in achieving excellent treatment results. The technique of varying bracket height placement on incisors to control torque of incisors in class II and class III cases as well as lingual root torque on upper canine as replacement for missing upper lateral was a relief for dentists having difficulty in incorporating 3rd order bends or using torquing auxiliaries. Varying bracket height placement in the treatment of deep bite and open bite cases as well as obtaining aesthetic or consonant smile was explained in detail.  The efficiency of Genius passive self ligating bracket system in the management of class III malocclusion in growing patients without using expansion appliance and maxillary protraction facemask was also well described.  

The same seminar was held October 18, 2024 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, Lahug, Cebu City.

The very informative seminar was well attended by 183 participants (Oct. 15 - Manila) and  100 participants (Oct. 18 Cebu) who were awarded 7 CPD points each for their participation.
