1St General Meeting and Scientific Seminar on February 1, 2023

The Association of Philippine Orthodontists conducted the 1st general meeting and scientific seminar on February 1, 2023 at One Shangri-La Place, Mandaluyong City. This was the first time that a face to face seminar was held by APO after the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 82 delegates attended the half day scientific session. Each speaker was able to discuss the different treatment protocols as well as different mechanics in order to treat the different types of malocclusions. The delegates were also able to learn the different diagnostic procedures that can help them come up with better treatment planning.

Furthermore, delegates got to appreciate biomechanics as an important tool for a successful treatment of difficult cases using yin yang arch wires including reverse curve arch wires. Proper wire sequencing and wire mechanics to achieve good interdigitation and a stable case were also discussed fully by the three speakers. A lively discussion followed each lecture with the moderators facilitating the question and answer portion. Aside from the lectures, the delegates were able to meet face to face with their friends after more than 3 years.
