The Association of Philippine Orthodontists held its 12th Regional Orthodontic Congress on March 3-4, 2025 at Mandarin Bay Resort and Spa, Boracay Island.
The theme of the congress is “Rewind and Unwind: Efficient Biomechanics for Better Treatment Results” which featured one and a half days of engaging lectures from 5 internationally renowned speakers. It was a valuable and an enriching experience for the attendees of the congress.
Day 1 first lecture was given by no less than the President of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Dr. Nikhillesh Vaiid followed by very interesting and informative lectures from Dr. Johnny Liaw, “Challenging Malocclusions Treated with TADs” in the 2nd half of the morning session and “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Optimize Orthodontic Excellence” in the first half of the afternoon Session. Day 1 ended with an equally interesting and engaging lecture from Dr. Lawrence Yong “Transforming Teen Smiles: Unlocking the Potential of Clear Aligners for Growing Patients”
The evening of day 1 was a memorable night of friendship and camaraderie to all attendees as they were treated to a Hawaiian themed party with good food, live music and dancing.
The second day of the congress like day 1 was filled with learning gems from Dr. Wisarut Siravisidporn lecture entitled “The Best of Both Worlds: Interactive and Passive Brackets in One Unified System”. and Dr. Kee-Joon Lee “Treatment of Facial Asymmetry Based on Soft Tissue Padigm- New Perspectives.
The very informative seminar is well attended by APO members and Non-APO members /Friends of APO who were awarded 10 CPD points each for their participation.
