The 10th APO general meeting this October did it again as it delivered to its eager participants a landmark topic that did not all disappoint. Dr. Shen Hasegawa, a seasoned orthodontist, researcher of bone science, mentor, and a saxophonist from Nagoya Japan, is the brilliant mind behind this Gummetal technology. With his collaboration with the scientists and engineers from the R and D department of Toyota, what started as a material for golf clubs, bolts, tennis racquets and artificial bone, orthodontists now have on their hands Gummetal, a wonder wire that eclipses the top qualities of all the wires combined available in the orthodontic market today.

To elect means to choose or to make a decision…
Elections were used as early in history as ancient Greece and ancient Rome, and throughout the Medieval period to select rulers such as the Holy Roman Emperor and the Pope.
In India, in the olden days, palm leaves were used by the villagers for assembly elections. The leaves, with candidate names written on them, were put inside a mud pot for counting.

Last April 2, 2014, the Association of Philippine Orthodontists (APO) had its 7th General Membership Meeting at the Metroclub Makati. It was a pro-active meeting in the sense that the topic during the gathering was on - “Case Discussion and Mentoring.”
